Legend has it that O’Brien was a convict in the early 1800’s charged with stealing two pigs. A humble farm labourer upon his arrival in a new land, O’Brien set out to right his wrongs building and maintaining fences as a way to redeem himself. His skills were soon noticed as he established a reputation, and later, a family tradition. Not much is known beyond these rumours and hearsay!
Today, the O’Briens legacy lives on.
